Candlelit silent dinner at Nghê Prana

Our silent dinner is only the beginning

A silent retreat in Hoi An

Nghê Prana is a silent retreat in Hoi An — modest in scale, but serious about stillness. Our weekly Silent Dinner Experience is the signature, but quiet runs deeper than that. The property is on the Thu Bon River, away from bars and traffic. Mornings are slow. Most guests find they stop speaking much after the second day.

This isn't a Vipassana monastery — you can speak when you want, and the Old Town is ten minutes by bicycle. But if you came to Hoi An to stop talking for a while, this is the address.

Weekly Silent Dinner Experience

A 5-course Vietnamese tasting menu served in intentional silence. Guests regularly describe it as one of the most memorable meals of their lives.

Quiet is the default

No piped music on the property. Staff are trained to speak softly. Rooms are riverside and triple-glazed.

Solo-traveller friendly

We host many solo travellers looking for quiet. Dinner can be booked solo or shared, communal breakfasts are optional.

Questions guests ask

Frequently asked

Is the Silent Dinner included?

It is an optional add-on, priced separately. Reservation required — we host the Silent Dinner once a week.

Do I need to keep silent the whole stay?

No. Silence is offered, not enforced. Most guests gradually grow quieter on their own.

Is this suitable for solo travellers?

Yes, especially so. Many of our quietest guests arrive solo.
