Full body massage is the phrase people search, and on our spa menu at Nghê Prana, the riverside hotel on the Thu Bồn, it is not one treatment but six. They share a shape — an hour or an hour and a half, head to toe — and differ in what the therapist works with: oil, warm herbal compresses, hot stones, stretching, bamboo, or a side-lying position for pregnancy. This page prices all six exactly, says what full body covers and what it does not, and says what stays on.

Prices are per person, read from our live spa menu on 26 September 2026. At the 26,000₫ rate we use across this site, 450,000₫ is about US$17 and 770,000₫ about US$30. The price on the menu is the bill: final, VAT included, no service charge added at the desk. In-house guests take 15% off spa treatments; guests who are not staying with us get a fresh drink after the treatment. The menu's own words for the oil massage are "head to toe": back, shoulders and neck, arms and hands, legs and feet, in one unhurried pass. Full body does not mean everywhere. It never includes the chest or the groin, which stay covered for the whole treatment. If there is somewhere you would rather not be touched — ticklish feet, a sore knee, your face — say so at the start, or mark it on the consultation form: tap an area once on the body map for focus here, twice for avoid here, and the therapist works around it.
You are in a private room with a door that closes. Underwear stays on for the entire treatment. You are covered by a towel throughout; only the area being worked on is uncovered, and it is covered again before the therapist moves on. Chest and groin are covered at all times. For the Thai massage without oil you keep loose clothing on throughout. Nghê Prana is a licensed hotel spa and every treatment is therapeutic: there are no sexual services of any kind, and none will be offered or implied. We say this plainly because it is the question many first-time guests want answered and feel awkward asking. You can ask the therapist to change the pressure, skip an area or stop at any point.
If this is your first massage, or you simply want to sleep well tonight, book the relaxing oil massage: it is the default, the most booked and the least expensive. If you want the one that is specifically Vietnamese, book the Vietnamese herbal massage, where warm herb compresses are pressed along the muscles as well as hands. If what you want is heat, the hot stone massage is the same price with heated stones.
If you are stiff rather than sore and would like to stay clothed, the Thai massage works by assisted stretching. If you like firm pressure, the bamboo massage rolls warmed bamboo into the muscle — though our own page on it says the hour is the work and the therapist, not the implement. If you are pregnant, book the pregnancy treatment: it is side-lying and supported, and it is the one we will steer you to.
It is a full body massage in the thuốc nam tradition — southern medicine, built from plants that grow in Vietnam rather than the imported Chinese pharmacopoeia. The hands-on part is xoa bóp, rubbing and kneading, with bấm huyệt, pressure on specific points. What makes ours a herbal massage rather than an oil massage is the compress: lemongrass, ginger and local herbs packed in cloth, heated, then pressed and rolled along the muscle. If what hurts is one place — the neck and shoulders after a long flight, a headache that sits at the temples — a full body massage spreads sixty minutes across your whole body, and most of it is spent somewhere that does not hurt. The back, neck and shoulder treatment spends the hour where it hurts, and at 490,000₫ for 60 minutes it costs less than every full body option except the oil massage. Sixty minutes covers the whole body at an unhurried pace. On the oil massage, ninety does not add areas; it adds time in the middle of the hour on the back and legs, which is where a body that has walked the Old Town for three days wants it. The extra thirty minutes costs 150,000₫ on the oil massage, 180,000₫ on the herbal, hot stone and pregnancy treatments, and 200,000₫ on the Thai and bamboo. For a first massage, sixty is enough to know whether you like the form.
Two massage prices only compare if four things match: the minutes, whether the price is per person or for two, whether VAT and a service charge are already in it, and whether a tip is expected on top. Ours, for the record: 60 or 90 minutes as listed, per person, VAT included, no service charge, tip optional. With those four answered, the numbers in the table above are the whole cost.
From Ruth Werner, A Massage Therapist's Guide to Pathology, 5th ed. If you take medication for high blood pressure, you "may feel dizzy or lethargic" afterwards (p. 258), so we sit you up slowly. Broken, grazed or weeping skin is a red flag for any massage — Werner calls such a client "a walking invitation to infection" (p. 20) — so the therapist will work around it. Sunburn is a first-degree burn (p. 52); only very mild sunburn suits a gentle touch with soothing lotion (pp. 52–53), so if you are pink from the beach, wait a day. If you are pregnant, book the side-lying treatment, for reasons Werner sets out on page 481. A fever, an infection or a fresh injury means another day.

Add 30 minutes in the private jacuzzi, which is 300,000₫ each for two people with drinks and fruit included and needs no advance notice, and the afternoon is 1,500,000₫ for both of you.
